POLLARD MOVE TO LARGER OFFICES IN PLYMOUTH
Regional contractor Pollard has moved to larger premises in Plymouth as part of its planned expansion and commitment to the region.
The privately owned business, one of the oldest established construction companies in the country with a history dating back almost 160 years, opened its first regional office in Plymouth in 2015 to support the increasing proportion of its turnover secured in the Devon area. With record turnover achieved last year, the company has taken the decision to invest in its long term future by moving to larger offices in Queen Anne’s Battery.
Commenting on the move, Bill Badham, Managing Director of Pollard said:
“To have outgrown our original office in the Cargo Building is a reflection of the success of our strategy to expand our business on the South West Peninsula. With our locally based teams we have been able to develop strong relationships with our clients, consultant teams and supply chain which has given us the confidence to expand into these impressive water front premises.
These are exciting times for the company and we look forward to reinforcing our position as one of the leading contractors in the region.”
Recent and current contracts demonstrate the broad range of projects and market sectors in which the company operates. They include Leeward House in Mount Wise, a six storey building of 59 apartments; a 130 bed student accommodation scheme at Queen Street, Exeter; a new Medical Centre in Devonport; a food retail development on Alphington Road in Exeter; the refurbishment of Mount Stuart Hospital in Torquay; extensions and refurbishment of Holy Cross and Woodford Primary Schools for Plymouth City Council, a car showroom for Evans Halshaw in Exeter and an industrial unit for Marwood Group in Plymouth.
